Going down the memory lane, I recon that ten years ago, Gurgaon was a merely a piece of barren land with no sign of life for miles to go. And then there is today where Gurgaon has been christened the Manhattan of India. Sadly enough being the Manhattan of India it also falls in line as one of the most expensive places in India.
Well in this obnoxiously expensive place, everybody deserves a bit of little extra and we thank god for the existence of the well known Flea markets.
These flea markets however scarce in number give our hearts a sense of excitement and relief and hence when ever they are held, they do not fail to attract a large number of audience.
The number of flea markets are pretty less but they are definitely value for money.
The most well known market in Gurgaon, Sadar has become the hub of whole sale market for almost everything. Whether its the spices, or the clothing raw material and even the books. You name it and you find it there. The best part about this market is that it is open from Monday to Saturday.
Export Bazaar (In Sec-14 Gurgaon)
This market is famously known as “Sector chaudha ki market” Famous for mainly eating joints, however, it now consists of various vendors selling clothes and accessories like bags, bangles, stole etc. This area is definitely value for money as you can get the latest stock available at cheap rates. If one has been to the “Janpath lane” in Delhi then one will definitely save fuel and visit this market.
My best bargain from this place has been a lavish black and white jumpsuit that I managed to get my hands on for 300 ruppees only !
DLF Phase-I market
Arjun marg/DLF Phase-I is the nearest escape for the people living In Cyber City and Phase-II. This market has been analogously Compared to the M-Block market in Greater Kailash numerous Amount of times. Chicken rolls and value for money clothing is what this market has to offer best.
Try and avoid this market during the evening hours if you want the best deals in clothing, and the converse is true in case your soul motive is to try the Gurgaon Famous rolls from Qureshi’s.
Apart from these there are various other market that you can find in the vast expanse of Gurgaon. One of the best ways to get lucky in finding these markets is to look for the condominium events that keep happening during the festivities throughout the year.
These are small to large scale ‘melas’ that are organized by residential complexes and have a wide variety of goods. If you have a good eye, you can definitely get something that is real value for money.
